Balaam

At this point, in the yearly reading of the Old Testament (Torah), we come upon the section known as Balak. Balak is the king of Moab, and, as the story develops in Numbers 22-24, he is alarmed at the approaching descendants of Abraham. He contacts a man named Balaam,. There is no direct explanantion who this Balaam is, but we soon learn that he is in contact with the Spirit that moves through ALL: He prays for instructions, and through his consciousness of the DIVINE FORCE his prayers are answered. The story has a variety of lessons but the one that is stressed is that Balaam is not a descendant of Abraham. Balaam, however, though his consciousness of the DIVINE FORCE is no more or less able to access it than the descendants of Abraham. The DIVINE FORCE moves through ALL and is accessible by ALL. Last weeks Old Testament (Torah) portion (Numbers 22-24) speaks of Balak is the king of Moab. He contacts a man named Balaam because he is afraid of the approaching tribe of the descendants of Abraham. We soon learn that Balaam is in contact with the Spirit that moves through ALL: Balaam prays for instructions, and through his consciousness of the DIVINE FORCE he saves his people. Balaam is not a descendant of Abraham. Balaam, however, though his consciousness of the DIVINE FORCE is no more or less able to access it than the descendants of Abraham as the DIVINE FORCE moves through ALL of Creation and is accessible by ALL. We told this story to a friend who is the head of an important interfaith religious institution. His response was “much depends on whether he is a good guy or a bad guy”. We respectfully disagree. Abraham lived in a time when people worshipped the physical. But Abraham looked into the stars and noticed that every night they moved in the same path. He was conscious that there was a single Divine Force that connected not only the stars but ALL of Creation. Religion has moved from this place of Abraham to a place of judgment and hence all the conflicts. Unfortunately the religion of rules and judgment is divisive and is at the core of the disconnect between the message of Abraham and the descendants of Abraham. Abraham lived in an open tent. He welcomed ALL. He did not live in Judgment of others. Your good will always be someone else’s bad but it is undoubtedly ONE FORCE that moves through ALL and connects us ALL AMEN ABRAHAMIC (SPIRITUAL) JUDAISM- ONE PEOPLE WORLD UNITED

Balance

Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance and harmony. A life lived in true balance and harmony with the Force of Creation brings inner peace and delight. Proverbs 11.1 Amen ABRAHAMIC (SPIRITUAL) JUDAISM- ONE PEOPLE WORLD UNITED
