hanukkah

At this time of year, the Festival of Lights (Hanukkah), we celebrate the descendants of Abraham’s victory against overwhelming forces to maintain their right to pray, connect and transcend to the Divine Unity of Creation. It was through this faith in the Divine Unity of ALL things that they were able to have the inner peace to save themselves despite the overwhelming forces threatening their existence. We celebrate a single candle flame (Shamash), without losing any of it’s light, lighting all the other candle flames. All the candles share and are connected by the common flame and it’s Unity. Similarly, the Life Source of Creation lights the life force in ALL of us and we are connected with each other through the UNITY if the LIGHT of CREATION. WE KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT ALONE through this transcendency of Abraham (spiritual father of Muslims, Christians and Jews) to connection and UNITY with the Divine Light. It’s transcendence fills our SOULS with INNER PEACE. All the candles burn in UNITY connected by the common flame on a candle holder (Menorah) made collaboratively by ten glass workers of differing faiths at Penland School of Crafts in the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Asheville, North Carolina. We are thankful for the UNITY of the common flame of life. Amen
