He Lived

Last weeks Old Testament (Torah) portion is the last reading from the book of Genesis called Vayechi (ויחי), which means “he lived.” The title comes from the first verse of the reading, which says, “Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years” (Genesis 47:28). Genesis ends with the death of Jacob, followed shortly by the death of Joseph. Each of us, like Jacob and Joseph, is on our individual journey, which often takes us far from our home, through this life. We can find our salvation, in this journey, through consciousness of our connection with the Divine Force of Creation. Our life ends in eternal peace, like Jacob and Joseph, in a reunion with the Divine Force of Creation. Amen SPIRITUAL (ABRAHAMIC) JUDAISM- ONE PEOPLE WORLD UNITED
